What Sorts of Realistic Movies Teach You a Lot About Love

Sometimes it can feel like you know nothing about love and you have nowhere to learn about love, other than scouring the internet for advice. But did you know that you can actually learn a lot about love from the movies?

Hollywood has been making rom-coms for decades and, while some are silly and makes no sense, there are movies which can teach you lessons about love. Since love can come in many different shapes and forms, different romantic movies can teach you different things about love.

Now, obviously I am not going to sit here and talk to you about all of the hundreds of movies you could watch, and I’m also not just going to list them. Instead, I have picked 3 romantic movies which I feel can teach you so much about love, and they are:

  • (500) Days of Summer
  • About Time
  • Lost in Translation

I will tell you why they are good movies to watch to learn about love; what it will teach you about love; and how you can use these lessons to improve your own life. So let’s get right into it. But know that there are spoilers ahead.

(500) Days of Summer

Some people actually feel that (500) Days of Summer is a movie about heartbreak and losing the love of your life, but that isn’t completely the case. Yes, the character played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt does lose his girlfriend in the end, but it is the journey he goes on over these 500 days which teach you so much.

I can openly admit that I have lost the love of my life at one point in my life, but she was only the love of my life at that time. There have been bigger and better love than that and I am now happier than ever with the girl of my dreams.

(500) Days of Summer shows you that, yes, there is going to be a time in your life when you lose love and it is going to feel like the end of the world. But don’t let it get you down, pick yourself back up because better love is waiting just around the corner.

About Time

About Time is arguably one of the most underrated and unseen movies around, but I’m not here to tell you how great the film is. You want to know about love and About Time has a great lesson about love.

The general gist of the film is, the character played by Domnhall Gleeson can travel through time and he decides to use his gift to help him find love. Unfortunately, as he tries to fix the issues that come with this unique gift, he realizes that, even with this ability, he can’t stop the pain of life from happening.

The message About Time sends is that you have to live in the moment and enjoy the love you have in your life in the here and now. Stop trying to fix things and change things to please everyone, because life is going to happen and there is nothing you can do about. Live your life to the best of your ability and love with your whole heart, after all, you only get one life.

Lost in Translation

Now Lost in Translation is not so much about falling in love with the person of your dreams. In fact, it is more about finding love in an unexpected place, from an unexpected person. This is not that truly romantic type of love either, it is that connection between two like-minded people.

Scarlett Johansson is in Tokyo with her new husband, who is too busy with work to have any time for her, leaving her lonely. Bill Murray is in Tokyo shooting a commercial but is clearly unhappy with life and lonely on his own. The two have a chance meeting in a bar where they form a connection together, showing that love has no age limit and does not have to be sexual.

That is probably the biggest lesson here. It doesn’t matter where you are or what you are doing, love can find you anytime, anyplace, anywhere. So if you are feeling lonely and feeling down, thinking that all love is lost, remember that love has no rules and it can strike at any time.

With that in mind, if you are still looking for love, then you need to register with GoMarry.com, where they will help you to find the perfect love that will last the rest of your life.
