Criteria for Choosing an Online Dating App

Dating App

If you’ve read some of my previous articles, you know that I don’t agree with most online dating apps. I, personally think that dating online mostly ends up in a big disappointment. Read Online Dating Disappointment. I do understand that most singles find online dating an easy way to meet new people and to finally be in a relationship they long for. But with the big amount of online dating app available, which one do you choose? And how do you choose?

When choosing you should ask yourself the following few questions:

  1. Do I Want Something Long or Short-term

A lot of online dating apps like Tinder, Grinder or Tan-Tan, gives you the option to meet singles with the sole purpose of having a short-term fling. Hooking up and having one-night stands with singles that are active on these apps can be fun in the short-term but damaging in the long-term.

Hooking up and signing up for these sites means that you aren’t ready for something real and life-changing. You are still in a phase where you want to have fun and be irresponsible. You don’t care about investing time and emotions into something, that most probably, won’t work out or turn into something long-lasting.

Looking for something that is real and long-lasting isn’t uncommon and you shouldn’t feel unpopular or weird if you want something meaningful. Admitting to wanting a marriage partner or someone you can share your life with, is the first step into meeting someone of your dreams online.

  1. Will I Be Able to Deal with The Disappointment of a Failed Meeting?

When choosing an online dating app or site, you need to ask yourself one very important question – will I be able to deal with the disappointment of meeting someone who is also chatting and dating other people?

The truth is that singles who are on hookup sites aren’t looking for something real. They are looking for something fun and short-term. So, if you are building up your hopes and dreams and thinking that you are going to meet the man of your dreams on a hookup site, you need to think again.

Investing your emotions and time into someone that is bound to hurt you eventually, isn’t worth it.

  1. Do You Want Something Serious?

If your answer to this question is: “definitely, yes!” then is for you.  By setting up a profile, reading through our instructions and going through eligible bachelors’ and bachelorettes’ profiles you will meet the partner of your dreams.
